Washington State will face Syracuse in DirecTV Holiday Bowl on December 27 [Video]

PULLMAN, Wash — The Washington State Cougars will face the Syracuse Orange in the DirecTV Holiday Bowl on December 27 in San Diego, California.

“Washington State is excited to accept an invitation to the 2024 DirecTV Holiday Bowl,” said WSU Director of Athletics Anne McCoy in a press release. “To participate in one of the premier bowl games, in a region where many of our fans can attend, will provide a memorable experience for our players, coaches and alumni.”

This will mark the second ever meeting between the two teams, the first being a Syracuse victory in 1979.

It will be the fifth appearance for the Cougs in the Holiday Bowl and their first since 2017. WSU is 1-3 all time in the Holiday Bowl with the only Cougar victory coming in 2003.
