PORTLAND, Ore. — Washington County will close its severe weather shelters at noon on Sunday with forecasted temperatures expected to improve, the county said Saturday evening.
In the meantime, the county said anyone seeking shelter should go to one of these sites:
- Blanton Street Building, 20665 Southwest Blanton Street
- Front building closest to Blanton Street, entrance next to flagpole
- Accessible via TriMet routes 57 and 88
- Shelter Operator: Project Homeless Connect
Washington County said the shelters have served around 56 people since opening on Friday and anticipate serving as many as 70 people Saturday night.
Temperatures are expected to drop below freezing Saturday night and a few locations could get as cold as the low 20s. There’s a cold weather advisory in effect from 10 p.m. on Saturday to 10 a.m. on Sunday, said KGW Meteorologist Joe Raineri.
