Warren County residents celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day [Video]

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) – Frigid temperatures didn’t stop the Warren County community from honoring Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy Monday morning.

The Bowling Green MLK Day Planning Committee organized this year’s event, which was themed Mission Possible: Protecting Freedom, Justice, and Democracy in the Spirit of Nonviolence 365.

The day started with breakfast at Parker-Bennett-Curry Elementary. After that, dozens marched from the Warren County Justice Center to State Street Baptist Church. Afterward, the church pews were filled for a memorial celebration service.

“You know what Dr. King was full of? Keynote speaker Jeremiah Castille asked the crowd. “Hope. You don’t put your life on the line if you’re not full of hope.”
