Warren County inmates reconnect with children at home through Stories of the Heart [Video]

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) – Inmates at the Warren County Regional Jail have been taking advantage of a new opportunity offered through a partnership between the jail and the South Central Kentucky Literacy Council.

The new initiative allows them to read a selection of stories to children they love waiting at home.

Stories from the Heart allows inmates to choose from a selection of over 70 children’s books that span a wide range of age groups and topics. Inmates record themselves reading the book with a heartfelt message included.

Afterward, the council censors the recording as needed and sends the recording with a physical copy of the book for the child at home to read along.
