GREENVILLE, S.C. (FOX Carolina) – Walmart said a big change is coming to a store in Greenville beginning Sunday.

The company is removing the self-checkout lanes at 6134 White Horse Road and switching to associate-staffed checkouts only.

A spokesperson for Walmart said the change is based on feedback from customers, input from associates, and research on shopping patterns in the market.

Work on the conversion will be done overnight beginning April 14, lasting approximately two weeks.

“We believe this change helps our associates deliver more personalized and efficient service and will improve customer satisfaction and the overall experience at our store,” a Walmart spokesperson said.

Self-checkout will remain an option at the other Walmart stores in the area.
