Wallace-Dothan enters partnership for new Cyber Security Fellowship Program [Video]

DOTHAN, Ala. (WTVY) -Wallace Community College has announced the Alabama Cyber Security Fellowship Program for students.

In partnership with Advantage Consulting and Solutions and the Alabama Community College System, students now have the opportunity to get hands-on training in the field.

The 16-week program allows the school to build connections with area employers in the cybersecurity field.

This paired with classroom direction will prepare students for a workforce in need.

“The opportunity with this fellowship for students is tremendous. We have not always had companies that would allow students to come in and learn while on the job. This opportunity is more than the apprenticeship, it is a fellowship. So we hope that those students in that training will have a bond with companies where companies can determine if this is the hire for them,” Martha Compton, the Associate Dean of Career and Technical Education at Wallace, said.
