Wakefield, New Hampshire deaths believed to be linked to carbon monoxide [Video]

The investigation remains active and ongoing, but investigators said they believe the victims died as a result of carbon monoxide poisoning.

WAKEFIELD, N.H. — State officials in New Hampshire are investigating after four people in Wakefield were found dead from suspected carbon monoxide poisoning.

The investigation is a joint effort by New Hampshire State Fire Marshal Sean Toomey, Wakefield Fire Rescue Chief Todd Nason, and Wakefield Police Chief Michael Fenton, according to a press release issued by the New Hampshire Division of Fire Safety.

Shortly before 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, police responded to 2962 Province Lake Road in Wakefield for a welfare check. When officers arrived, they found multiple people dead, according to the release. Investigators from the New Hampshire State Fire Marshal’s Office responded to the scene to assist.

While the investigation remains active and ongoing, at this time, investigators said they believe the victims died as a result of carbon monoxide poisoning.
