WTS’s Safe Ride Home program offers rides to those who may be under the influence and unfit to drive.
WACO, Texas — Those looking to celebrate the new year in Waco can take advantage of free rides offered through the city’s transit system and avoid getting behind the wheel.
On Thursday, the Waco Transit System (WTS) announced that its Safe Ride Home program will return on Tuesday, Dec. 31. According to a press release, rides are available from 6 p.m. to 3 a.m. the following morning.
The release said Safe Ride Home also provides free vehicle tows, if necessary, courtesy of Tow King. Tow King ensures that individuals and their cars arrive home safely, alleviating the stress of making decisions while potentially under the influence.
WTS described the Safe Ride Home program as a “very successful program.”
