Volunteers help to clean-up trails in Rangeley [Video]

STREAM GORGE TRAILHEAD. TODAY, THE PEAKS HIGH ALLIANCE IS ASKING FOR VOLUNTEERS TO HELP THEM WITH THE FLY ROD CROSBY TRAIL. YOU’LL BE REPAIRING STONE STEPS, CONNECTING TRAILS SO THAT THEY LEAD BACK TO THE MAIN TRAIL AND INSTALLING SOME STEPPING STONES

The High Peaks Alliance is cleaning up the Fly Rod Crosby Trail on Saturday, June 22, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Interested volunteers can meet at the Cascade Stream Gorge trailhead in Rangeley.Their goal is to repair stone steps, correct trails to lead back to the main trail, and install stepping stones. A second trail clean-up day will be held on Saturday, Aug. 24. The High Peaks Alliance says the Fly Rod Crosby Trail was named after an avid outdoorsman from Phillips. Cornelia “Fly Rod” Crosby is said to be Maine’s first registered guide and an expert fly-fisher.
