VIRGINIA BEACH — The City Council decided Tuesday to set a new five-day deadline for Something in the Water festival organizers to take action or lose city support for the April event.
Virginia Beach has agreed to give Something in the Water up to $500,000 for the 2025 festival, but only if organizers meet specific goals and are transparent in the planning process.

The sponsorship agreement, signed in November, included conditions such as announcing the lineup and ticket sales before Dec. 31. When the festival missed the December deadline, the council agreed to provide the festival with more time.
On Tuesday, council members learned from city officials that the festival organizers have still not provided information regarding ticket sales or the festival lineup of entertainers, nor have they said when they can provide those details.
