A local police officer saved the day when he arrived just in time to stop a toddler with autism from drowning in the backyard of his home.
On Sunday, Sept. 22, 3-year-old Aziel Calvillo was reported missing from his home in Fort Wayne, Ind., at 2:20 p.m. local time, according to a press release from the Fort Wayne Police Department.
Representatives from the Fort Wayne Police Department did not immediately respond to PEOPLE’s request for comment.
Upon arriving at the scene, “Officers searched the residence and the surrounding area looking for the child,” officials said. Speaking with local news outlet WPTA, the young boy’s father, Alex Calvillo, explained the moment he realized his son was missing.
