This demonstration comes after the meeting in Israel between the head of US diplomacy, Antony Blinken, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. This is his ninth visit to the country since the start of the war in the Gaza Strip in October 2023.

Negotiations in Doha, Qatar, for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the release of hostages held by Hamas have failed to reach an agreement. Israel and Hamas blame each other for the stagnation of the talks.
