Veterans Day parade held in Clarksburg Monday [Video]

CLARKSBURG, W.Va (WDTV) – The streets of Clarksburg were red, white and blue Monday afternoon as the annual Veterans Day parade made its way through downtown.

Hundreds of folks were on hand to pay tribute to all veterans in our community.

High school bands, floats and of course, many veterans and groups that support veterans were on hand.

One veteran we spoke with said Monday’s recognition of all that veterans have done carries a lot of importance.

“Veteran’s Day is a very special day,” said veteran Peter Taylor. “It honors those of us who served. We owe a lot to all the other veterans who have gone after me and before me as well who have stood up for this great nation.”

WDTV’s very own meteorologist Daniel Niemasz is a Marine Corps veteran and participated in today’s parade. We thank him and all veterans today for their service and sacrifice.
