Verizon said it had restored service after experiencing a technical issue that led to hundreds of thousands of reports of outages on Monday.
“Verizon engineers have fully restored today’s network disruption that impacted some customers. Service has returned to normal levels,” the company said Monday evening on X. “If you are still having issues, we recommend restarting your device. We know how much people rely on Verizon and apologize for any inconvenience. We appreciate your patience.”
In a statement posted to social media Monday afternoon, the FCC said it was monitoring the situation.
“We’re aware of a Verizon outage impacting customers in parts of the country,” the agency had said. “We are working to determine the cause and extent of these service disruptions.”
