US High-Speed Rail Map Shows How New Plans Might Work [Video]

A recent New Mexico transportation infrastructure meeting included a proposal from the High Speed Rail Alliance (HSRA) that revealed a new map showing how high speed rail systems might connect across the country.

The map shows federal regional rail plans for four proposed systems: the Midwest Regional Rail Plan, the Southeast Regional Rail Plan, the Southwest Regional Rail Plan, and the Northeast Corridor Plan.

The map was shared as part of the non-profit advocacy organization’s proposal for high speed rail in New Mexico. This map (shown below) divides the U.S. into various regional plans, each with specific colored outlines. The Midwest Regional Rail Plan (green) covers major cities in the Midwest including Chicago, Milwaukee, Detroit and St. Louis, with connections extending to the eastern and southeastern U.S.
