TOLEDO, Ohio — Legislation to rename a major U.S. highway has been sent to the President’s desk for signing.
According to a press release from U.S. Rep Marcy Kaptur’s office Monday, US Route 20, which in its coast-to-coast stretch passes through northwest Ohio, will be renamed “National Medal of Honor Highway” if the President signs it into law.
The legislative effort was led by Kaptur, as well as Pennsylvania Congressman Mike Kelly, and Senators Ron Wyden and Mike Crapo. The renaming bill passed in the Senate on Dec. 19, 2023, and was passed unanimously in the House on Monday.
