Ursuline College reaches agreement to merge with Gannon University by late 2026 [Video]

Once the transition period ends, Ursuline will become the Ursuline College Campus of Gannon University. Tuition, scholarships or financial aid will not be impacted.

ERIE, Pa. — The Board of Trustees at Pepper Pike-based Ursuline College has approved a “definitive agreement” to join with Erie, Pennsylvania-based Gannon University by Dec. 15, 2026. The agreement comes after the two schools announced in September that it had agreed to enter into a strategic partnership. 

According to a release from both institutions, when the two colleges combine, it will create “the largest Catholic system of higher education along Lake Erie.”

The two schools will be combined under Gannon University, with Ursuline College to be operated “as an additional location of Gannon with distinct academic programs, athletics, and facilities. The Ursuline College name will be retained throughout the partnership, and the school will become the Ursuline College Campus of Gannon University,” the release added.
