Urban Alchemy building relationships and trust among unhoused in Birmingham [Video]

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – The Urban Alchemy team is now working to improve the lives of the unhoused in Birmingham. The Homeless Engagement Assistance Response Team, or H.E.A.R.T team were on 14th Street North on Tuesday trying to connect those who are hurting with various resources to improve their lives.

Local Urban Alchemy leaders say they are very proud of the team’s efforts early on, and right now they are working to build relationships and trust in the community members they intend on helping in the months ahead.

Tuesday, the team spent hours working to connect with people in Birmingham who are struggling. They worked to not only get to know these men and women, but try and find ways to improve their situation.

“We will call you as soon as we locate or find a place where you can take a hot shower okay,” said one H.E.A.R.T member.
