The town of Lake Lure is slowly progressing toward normalcy, and businesses say they’re finally opening.It’s been a long two months for the folks at Lake Lure after Hurricane Helene dealt historic damage. “The boat dock was underwater, the canoes were disappeared. my brother’s boat house, the Mastercraft, crashed into the roof of the boat house,” Councilman Jim Proctor said.That damage extends to Tom Halladay and the team at Fae Nectar. He said the building was fine, but their property along the river was completely washed out.”Our building itself didn’t get to that much. We’re incredibly fortunate in that respect, but our property, a lot of our embankment got washed away. A lot of our, they call it the ‘sea wall,’ along the lake got washed away,” Halladay said.
