TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – Some University of Arizona students in support of Palestine gathered on campus for a rally on Friday, Oct. 18.
Compared to the previous pro-Palestinian protests that the university has seen, this one was quite small.
Following the summer break, students wanted to increase the momentum again, which is something one of the organizers told 13 News has been happening across the country.
“They’re investing in themselves and trying to see if is there momentum here on campus for something similar,” said Muna Hijazi, state coordinator for the Arizona Palestine Solidarity Alliance.
She explained that U of A students reached out to their organization asking for their support.
Adding that instead of encampments, the summer break actually gave many students a chance to pause and be strategic with their approach, which is why they are encouraging students to go on strike.
