MADISON, Wis. (WBAY) – Universities of Wisconsin president Jay Rothman announced on Wednesday that high school seniors will begin receiving admissions offers next week.

It’s part of the new “Direct Admit Wisconsin” program.

Qualified students from nearly 330 public and private high schools are automatically admitted to UW campuses without submitting an application. If students stay on track to graduate, they can complete a “direct admit” form with the college they are interested in and accept the offer.

Rothman said at the announcement press conference that he expects tens of thousands of students will receive direct admit letters.

The Universities of Wisconsin plans to expand the number of participating high schools and students in the coming year.
