Ukrainian community concerned over ongoing US support during a Trump presidency [Video]

CROMWELL, Conn. (WFSB) – The Ukrainian community has been watching the results of the election closely.

A Trump presidency could affect ongoing US support in the war with Russia.

Speaking with the Ukrainian community, there’s a deep sense of concern.

Many are worried about aid getting cut off and past comments Donald Trump has made.

“The sentiment is deeply worrying,” said Alex Kuzma, Chief Development Officer, Ukrainian Catholic University Foundation. “There’s always been a lot of concern about some of the comments that President Trump and Vice President-Elect JD Vance have said about Ukraine not being an important place in the world. And also saying they are committed to cutting off aid to Ukraine. That has obviously created a lot of anxiety within the community.”

The US has supplied Ukraine with over 60 billion dollars in military assistance since Russia invaded in 2022.
