US medical device solutions manufacturer UFP Technologies is seeking to expand its presence in Ireland after acquiring AQF Medical.
UFP, which previously acquired Advant Medical in 2022, has purchased AQF, a specialist provider of technical foam and thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) packaging solutions for the medical industry.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The company expects that AQF’s staff and in-house cleanroom manufacturing capabilities will deepen its value proposition, and bolster its existing capabilities.
It added that the deal will bring together “two of the global industry leaders in specialist foam conversion.”
Led by managing director Seamus Fagan, Co Meath’s AQF exports globally and participates in a successful technical foam joint venture in Singapore.
Its product offering requires technical expertise and its parts are used in applications such as woundcare, orthopaedic packaging and life-saving medical devices.
