EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WEVV) — The University of Evansville Men’s Soccer team won the MVC Championship on Saturday, securing their spot in the NCAA Tournament.

The community gathered on Sunday to celebrate the University of Evansville Men’s Soccer team’s big MVC Championship win.

They beat out #3 Bowling Green 3-2 in overtime for their chance to play in the NCAA Tournament for the first time in almost 30 years.

“We’re super thrilled to have the MVC Final come back home to Evansville after 28 years,” says Head Coach Robbe Tarver.

The University held a welcome home ceremony for the team at the Carson Center on Sunday.
