University College Cork (UCC) and the Crann Centre have created a heart-warming Christmas video.
Established in 2014, the Crann Centre is a pioneering Irish charity which provides whole-family solutions for children, adults and families living with neuro-physical disabilities. This Christmas, 54 families including 150 children, met Santa at the Crann Centre in Ovens in Cork and the video captures this winter wonderland by following Rian Somers (10) who was born with Spina Bifida and is a full-time wheelchair user.
In 2024 UCC and Crann signed a formal community partnership agreement which built on previous collaborations, particularly in the development of the charity’s award-winning accessible playground, which was co-designed and co-created by UCC researchers, Dr. Alice Moore and Dr. Helen Lynch, in partnership with children and families living with neuro-physical disabilities.
