Two towers, townhomes, part of major development plan in Brampton [Video]

A proposed building project could bring a new community to northeast Brampton.

The major component of the plan calls for two residential towers of 20- and 22-storeys containing 419 apartment units.

If approved, the development would also contain:

• Two mixed-used four-storey buildings with 120 units• One block of back-to-back townhouses with 16 units• Five blocks of three-storey townhouses with 45 units• 123 standard freehold townhouse dwelling units• 68 back-to-back townhouse dwellings• A public road network• A stormwater management pond• Two public parks

The project is slated for the east side of The Gore Road just north of Castlemore Road near The Gore Meadows Community Centre. The land is now largely open fields but does contain some dwelling units.

City planners are still processing the development application and will report back later if any changes to the plan are needed. City council will ultimately have to approve the proposal before …
