Two men arrested after allegedly using social media to rent out properties they didnt own [Video]

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) – Two men are sitting in Mobile Metro Jail after police say they used social media to rent out property that wasn’t theirs.

On Tuesday, Mobile police say they responded to a home in the 2100 block of Webb Avenue after a report of property theft.

Police say the home was one of several homes that the owner leases in Mobile. When she went to check on things, she told officers she found a person inside who she didn’t know.

Investigators say they discovered the home was listed on social media and that it was being rented by someone other than the owner.

Prior to this incident, police say the business owner found another person living in a different home she owns in the 200 block of Parkway Drive West.
