KANSAS CITY, Kan. (KCTV) – Two local students came up with a creative way to make picking up trash fun and contagious.
It’s all part of a competition but the real prize? Cleaner parks, streets and communities.
Makinley and Teghan are middle school students at Piper Middle School in Kansas City, Kansas, and they are on a mission to make communities cleaner.
It involves a trash bag, two hands and some of your time.
“We just kind of noticed that there’s so much trash as you drive,” said Makinley.
So, two girls created the project ‘A Bag At A Time’ for their club, FCCLA’s competition.
“FCCLA stands for family, career, community leaders of America,” explained Teghan.
When KCTV5 asked what inspired them to come up with the idea, they said it takes one person to make a difference.
