Tuscaloosa non-profit gets 2 large donations for kids activities [Video]

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) – A Tuscaloosa non-profit that works with kids will be able to do a more of that after getting a big boost of community support during one of its busiest times of the year.

Tuscaloosa’ Benjamin Barnes TYMCA offers activities for children throughout the year. They received two donations that will help as one of those programs ends this week and another begins soon, including a $5,000 “Sports Matters” donation from the Dick’s Sporting Good Foundation.

“We hope that their kids will be able to go to camps and be able to get their uniforms needs met,” said Erika Jones, an administrative assistant for Dick’s Sporting Goods.

Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated joined the mother De’Andre Little, a man who was the sports director at the Benjamin Barnes YMCA until his death four years ago, in donating a check for $1,000 to support sports programs for kids.
