Tulsa Global District and Tulsa Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce host Hispanic Heritage Day | News [Video]

TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa Global District and Hispanic Chamber of Commerce hosted Hispanic Heritage Day to celebrate the Hispanic/Latinx community on September 14 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.  

The event shined a light on the different Hispanic/Latinx cultures in Tulsa through food, dancing, and music.  

It included over 40 vendors and food trucks, activities for families and children, and multicultural entertainment.  

Performers included Ballet Folklorico Sol Azteca, Legacy Foundation Creations (Afro/Latinx Fusion), Tulsa Honor Academy Ballet Folklorico, Reflejos Flamencos, and Bossa.  

“We have been amazed at how the community – Hispanic community and non-Hispanic community – have been embracing this event,” said Martha Zapata, one of the event coordinators. 

Zapata said planning the Hispanic Heritage Day in Tulsa was a joint effort.
