TULSA, Okla. — Tulsa County Parks celebrated and honored the country’s first responders at Art in the Park on Saturday at LaFortune Park.
Attendees shopped from local artists and vendors, engaged with community partners, met and explored first responder trucks and vehicles and explored LaFortune Park.
The event was free to attend.
“What a great place to foster community in the Tulsa area and also spread thanks and gratitude and creativity,” said Martha Highland.
Martha Highland is the Arts and Culture Coordinator for Tulsa County Parks and Recreation.
She spoke with FOX23 about the event.
“We’re honoring first responders,” said Highland. “[and] we’re showcasing local artists to spread awareness of the creativity that Tulsa has to offer.”
Highland said every Art in the Park event is meant to give back to the city and to highlight the “unsung heroes” of the city.
