Tullahassee comes together to raise funds for 19-year-old’s cancer treatment | News [Video]

TULLAHASSEE, Okla. — The town of Tullahassee came together to host a 3-on-3 basketball tournament to raise money for 19-year-old Teyon Brewer’s cancer treatment.

FOX23 first shared Teyon’s story and his fight with cancer this past Wednesday.

Teyon graduated from Muskogee High School in May and was recently diagnosed with stage three colon cancer in October.

People from across the community have come together to help support Teyon during this difficult time.

As a fundraiser for Teyon and his family, the Tullahassee Wildcats Foundation hosted a 3-on-3 basketball tournament on Saturday.

“My son is 19 and knowing his mom and just having so many things in common, it’s just like that could have been me and what I would have done for me,” said Lauri Thompson, the treasurer of the Tullahassee Wildcats Foundation.

A total of 28 teams participated in the tournament, which exceeded everyone’s expectations including Teyon himself.
