Tucson Police help recover over 1.1 million fentanyl pills in traffic stop [Video]

TUCSON, Ariz. (13 News) – Tucson Police helped other law enforcement agencies recover more than 1.1 million fentanyl pills in a traffic stop.

Investigators from the Arizona High-Intensity Drug Trafficking Area (AZHIDTA) Counter Narcotics Alliance (CNA)—a coalition that includes members from TPD and the DEA—conducted a vehicle interception operation along I-10, targeting suspected illegal drug transportation into Southern Arizona.

Tucson Police said officers stopped a Dodge Challenger driven by 42-year-old Abraham Loustaunau.

During the traffic stop, officers found over 1.1 million fentanyl pills (with an estimated street value of over $4 million) hidden inside the vehicle.

Authorities said the driver was also armed with a handgun.

Tucson Police said Loustaunau was arrested and his vehicle was impounded.
