The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center launched the program to provide free breast cancer detection for women in rural parts of the state.
TEXAS, USA — Texas women in rural communities will now have access to breast cancer detection, some for free, thanks to a pilot program launched by the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center.
To try to increase early detection in rural areas, the TTUHSC Institute for Telehealth and Digital Innovation and the Laura W. Bush Institute for Women’s Health have launched “Access to Breast Health for Texans.” The initiative will provide health education and access to technology that could increase early breast cancer detection to women in rural areas of Texas.
The project is a collaboration between the TTUHSC Laura W. Bush Institute for Women’s Health and Bexa Equity Alliance.
