CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (KCRG) – The Transportation Security Administration expects to screen up to 17 million flyers through Wednesday, making it the busiest recorded Labor Day Travel Period.
The Eastern Iowa Airport isn’t expecting to see that influx of passengers, but they’re urging everybody to prepare as much as possible before they arrive for their flight. That includes travelers downloading their airline’s mobile app and arriving 90 minutes to two hours before their flight.
“I’d rather have you waiting at a gate and, you know, hanging out, having a beverage or a sandwich then rushing around at the lastminute,” Pam Hinman, director of marketing and communications for the Eastern Iowa Airport, said.
Friday is expected to be the busiest day, with the TSA expecting to screen 2.86 million people.
