As the stock market plunged to open the week amid renewed concerns that the U.S. could be heading for a recession, former President Donald Trump kicked the tires on a new nickname for his rival.
In a series of posts on Truth Social, Trump called Harris “Kamala Crash” and accused her of bringing about the “Great Depression of 2024.”
The S&P 500 was down Monday by 3.1% in morning trading and on track for its worst day in nearly two years. The Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 1,092 points, or 2.7%, as of 10:40 a.m. Eastern time, and the tech-heavy Nasdaq slid 3.6%, following a dismal jobs report on Friday that re-ignited fears the Fed wasn’t acting fast enough to cut interest rates.
