CHICO, Calif. – True North Housing Alliance broke ground on the Howard Slater Navigation Center, the organization’s first-ever navigation center in Chico. it’ll be built as an addition to the Torres Shelter on Silver Dollar Way.
“My family has been involved with the Torres Shelter since its inception when they first built this building back 25 years ago,” Brandon Slater said.
Family members and friends of the Slater family wore large white mustaches in tribute to the late Howard Slater for the groundbreaking of the navigation center named after the late owner of Slater and Son General Contractor.
