CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) – Trident United Way will host its largest community service event of the year this week to support dozens of Tri-County nonprofits.
The 24th annual event, Days of Caring, will run this Wednesday through Friday.
For Days of Caring, Trident United Way matches nonprofit agencies and schools with volunteer teams to help complete important projects that the organizations may not have the capacity to take on internally.
Corporate colleagues, friends, families and neighbors make up teams of volunteers for the event.
Trident United Way’s 2024 edition of Days of Caring will help 152 volunteer projects thanks to the help of more than 1,500 volunteers, TUW spokesperson Sarah Makuta said.
Blackbaud, MUSC, University School of the Lowcountry, Naval Nuclear Training Command, Santee Cooper, SMHa, Elliott Davis, Nucor, and Ingevity are contributing some of the largest volunteer teams.
