FREDONIA, N.Y. — The Village of Fredonia and Town of Pomfret are now under a travel ban. The City of Dunkirk is under a travel advisory due to continuing snow fall and unsafe conditions.
The Village of Fredonia Police Department announced the travel ban shortly before 10 a.m. on Saturday.
According to a release made by the Dunkirk Police Department, the travel advisory for the city went into effect at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday. The release also noted the following conditions:
- Strong winds and heavy snow may cause downed trees and power lines.
- Downed power lines: Always assume any downed line is live and energized. Maintain a safe distance of at least 35 feet.
- Traffic signals: Treat intersections as a four-way stop if traffic lights lose power.
