Trash delay still causing community concerns [Video]

HURRICANE, W.Va. (WSAZ) – “It’s the right thing to do, to let people know why,” Thomas Stratton said.

Waste Management said winter weather conditions have delayed pickups to icy neighborhoods in Putnam County, but customers want a better explanation for the lack of service.

“It is slick, but it’s not too slick for school buses or for anybody else who drives these roads,” Stratton said.

With a family of five and two trash cans overflowing, Thomas Stratton said the timing has been bad.

“It’s been the holidays so we’ve had company over, we’ve had a lot of trash build up, more so than usual.”

Jared Bilak also lives in Hurricane and said the open lid on his trash can is rare.
