Tractor-trailer struck and killed Northampton teen on I-91, DA says [Video]

A tractor-trailer struck and killed a 19-year-old on I-91 in Northampton Monday night, according to the Northwestern District Attorney’s Office.

Police responded to crash near the ramp to the Damon Road/Bridge Street rotary shortly before 10 p.m. after several drivers called to report that a pedestrian had been hit, the district attorney’s office said in a press release. The 19-year-old Northampton resident was declared dead at the scene.

The tractor-trailer driver — a 56-year-old man from Montreal, Canada — stayed at the scene, the district attorney’s office said. So far, no charges have been filed.
