The conditional use permit for ‘Project Spud’ has been appealed.
NAMPA, Idaho — The city supports a planned Tractor Supply Co. distribution center near the Nampa-Caldwell border but not some of its residents.
The project, known as “Project Spud,” will be located on 116 acres at the northeast corner of Midland and Ustick roads.
The project, which was approved by Nampa’s Planning and Zoning Commission in early December, includes a conditional use permit for storing liquids and flammable and combustible materials.
“We competed with other communities around the Western United States, and then they chose this Nampa site,” Robyn Sellers, City of Nampa’s Director of Economic Development, told KTVB Thursday. “One of the reasons why they chose Nampa is because we have a great labor force as well as the community that Nampa is, really has those agricultural roots.”
