Toys for Tots needs 1,000 toys for kids this holiday season [Video]

The organization is short 1,000 toys for the local children’s toy drive amid a nationwide shortage.

SAN DIEGO — Toys for Tots at the Logan Heights Community Development Cooperation needs your help.

They have way more requests for help than they have toys and now about 1,000 kids here in San Diego may not get a gift this holiday season.

Their giveaway is scheduled for Saturday, December 21 so time is running out.

Monte Jones is the President and CEO of Logan Heights CDC. Jones says they had about 2,300 kids signed up to get toys this Christmas but they’re still 1,000 toys short from filling that void.

They were supposed to host their Toys for Tots give a way on December 7 but Leonardo Ortiz, Logan Heights CDC Small Business Program Manager shared with CBS 8 that they had to delay the giveaway.
