GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. — Kent County’s Toys for Tots Distribution Day took place on Saturday and families across the community were busy selecting Christmas toys for their children.
One of the organization’s distribution locations, the St. Peter and Paul School in Grand Rapids, was filled with gifts, games and stuffed animals for families to choose from.
Mindy Smith, the Toys for Tots distribution coordinator at this location, said they expect to serve almost 900 families this year.
She said one of her favorite things about the event was looking at all the gifts the community provided for the children.
