Town of Newell hosts legislative cracker barrel [Video]

NEWELL, S.D. (KOTA) – The Whatever It Takes Coalition and the Town of Newell sponsored a legislative cracker barrel at the Newell City Hall on Saturday morning.

Senator Sam Marty and state Representatives Travis Ismay, Jana Hunt and Kathy Rice met with the community to discuss the current legislative session.

“We went over what’s happening down in legislature down in Pierre. Getting the questions from the community, and the comments from the community, on the questions they have on bills, that we may have the same questions on,” Hunt said.

Topics discussed included house bills on property taxes, education and agriculture.

Hunt said she was not surprised with the issues brought up by attendees.
