Town and Country Federal Credit Union is hosting its second year to help address food insecurity, mental health, domestic violence, veterans, and more.
SCARBOROUGH, Maine — A nonprofit credit union is reviving its holiday effort to give back to community groups in Maine that support underprivileged populations.
The effort is multi-layered. It begins with TCFCU staff volunteering to packing more than 200 bags of food for families during the holidays and presenting a $2,500 contribution to The Locker Project, which connects food-insecure children in Maine with nourishing food. That money will purchase more than 500 additional bags of food for families with children in school in Portland, South Portland, and Westbrook, TCFCU staff said.
