Toro announces layoffs of nearly of office staff globally [Video]

The company, based in Bloomington, said the decision was difficult.

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. — The Toro Company, a Bloomington-based business with manufacturing locations all over the world, announced it is laying off a number of office employees. 

A spokesperson with the company confirmed to KARE 11 that it is eliminating 300 office roles globally, calling the decision difficult. According to the company’s corporate profile, it employs 11,300 people worldwide. It’s unclear if and how many of those roles are in Minnesota. 

Toro is a “worldwide provider of innovative solutions for the outdoor environment,” according to its website. That includes turf and landscaping maintenance, underground utility construction, irrigation and outdoor lighting. It made $4.55 billion in 2023 in net sales.
