Tornado touched down in Buffalo Monday, National Weather Service confirms [Video]

What’s believed to be a tornado touched down in Buffalo Monday, the National Weather Service (NWS) has confirmed.

Video footage from ABC7 shows what appears to be a narrow funnel cloud appearing during a storm, while another video shows a much larger cloud moving through the area.

Buffalo authorities confirmed that several buildings were damaged during the storm, but no injuries were reported, the report said.

The tornado reportedly left a car on its roof in a parking lot, street signs bent, and fallen tree limbs across roads and sidewalks, according to ABC News.

A NWS statement said the tornado was preliminarily rated as an EF-1 with a maximum estimated wind speed of 90 mph, based on the damage to trees, “the moving of several dozen rooftop air conditioning units, and the loss of roofing material on a couple of multi-level or multi-family units,” the report said.
