More than 20 seniors attended the event at the J. Frank Troy Senior Center in central Toledo to smile, laugh and just be merry.
TOLEDO, Ohio — The holidays are all about spending time with good company. However, not everyone has a place to go.
The Area Office on Aging of Northwestern Ohio held an event on Wednesday inside of the J. Frank Troy Senior Center in central Toledo to offer company and a hot meal to the older community.
Live piano, laughter and the clinking of silverware filled the senior center as more than 20 people joined in the festivities.
“The meal is wonderful, in fact. Very tasty,” said attendee Danny Richardson.
“This is the first holiday — on the holiday — meal that we’ve had since COVID,” said Rebecca Liebes, vice president of the AOA’s Government Relations, Nutrition and Health Division.
