TOLEDO, Ohio (WTVG) – A multi-million-dollar development in downtown Toledo is about to serve up a pickleball paradise. Toledo Pickle is also a key component when it comes to the ongoing revitalization of the Vistula neighborhood.
A former city of Toledo maintenance building will be transformed into a family-friendly entertainment oasis by early next year. It’s also a key part of riverfront revitalization in that area.
The building is 40,000 square feet of space that will be packed full of family-friendly entertainment. It’s described as Toledo’s first year-round pickleball destination.
Toledo Pickle is a public-private partnership. Metroparks Toledo owns the land and the building.
“It’s a collaboration. You can’t win or succeed on your own, we have to do it together. We’re building a business with money going back to the Metroparks for sustainability over the long haul,” Brian Epstein, one of the investors on the business side said.
